9th Annual Celebration of Faculty Authors

The Libraries' Celebration of Recently Published Faculty Authors exhibition and reception honors the recent publications of Rutgers faculty. The opening reception will be held Wednesday March 21st, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, in the atrium, on the lower level of the Alexander Library. Acting Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Richard Edwards and Vice President for Information Services/University Librarian Marianne Gaunt will greet all exhibition participants at the opening reception. Librarians Support High-Profile Academic Programs

The challenges that many students may face as they transition from high school to college, and later to the real world, are often quite daunting. Rutgers librarians are working closely with faculty, in a variety of disciplines, to help students manage those transitions and to achieve their goals, academically, and ultimately, professionally. Women's Studies Librarian Kayo Denda, Education Librarian and Instruction Coordinator Jeris Cassel, and Social Sciences Librarian Karen Hartman are just a few who are partnering with academic departments to provide research assistance and guidance. Academic Colleagues Tap Librarians for Leadership

In January 2010, World History Librarian James Niessen took over as director of the Institute for Hungarian Studies and in September 2010, Social Sciences Librarian, Triveni Kuchi assumed the position of director of the South Asian Studies Program, a post in which she continues to serve. During their tenures, both Jim and Triveni coordinated events for the public, participated in outreach for their programs, and worked with faculty to advance the interests of their disciplines.
