PolicyMap provides detailed demographic info, on your desktop With the Libraries new online resource, PolicyMap, researchers can obtain a detailed demographic profile of a community, conduct market research on home sales, mortgage originations, and foreclosure filings, identify localities with poor access to public transit or grocery stores, visualize pockets of poverty or unemployment, and discover neighborhood trends over time. PolicyMap is geographic information system (GIS) software, an online data and mapping application that provides access to over 10,000 indicators related to demographics, housing, income, crime, mortgages, health, jobs, and more. The data is available in a number of categories and can be easily downloaded into CSV files for analysis. For more details, click here.
